I just needed a shove...
A lot of us are on a very tight schedule we claim that we are so strained we don't have time to help anyone but our selves. In some causes this may be the absolute truth, but the majority of the time people are just lacking the motivation and the know how to get started helping people in your community.
Thankfully I have been provided with many opprotunites throughout my life to give back to the area. At home my parents and my religion have always encouraged me to get invloved in charity work. I remember getting up early on a Saturday morning to go help fix up a less afluent neighborhood with my family, or going through all of my clothes and toys and books to see what we could donate. I never really had anything holding me back besides myself and my lack of motivation. I would see people on the news and I would want to help but since I did not know how I never truly worried about it. All I needed was the shove to get started.
I believe that everyone has something to offer while giving service. Sometimes all people want is someone to talk to, someone who will actually take the time and listen to what they have to say. I have been told that I have an artist gift with photography. I enjoy capturing life as it is happening. I cna use my skill to get others involved with volunteer work.

I like the way you break down your story, and summing it up that "we all need a shove to get started." we can't make a change if we dont take a step, because you can only learn morals through moral actions, you can only be socially involved through your social actions and not your wishes.
ReplyDeleteYou have rightly said it all that we all have a unique service to offer to our community, no service is a duplicate..Good job.
